Membrane
and crossing

Encountering the first color anatomical atlas—created by Jean-Baptiste Marc Bourgery with illustrations by Nicolas Henri Jacob (19th century)—introduces a new dimension to the work: the concept of the membrane.

In the Aglomerações (Agglomerations) series, the cord begins to emerge by piercing the canvas like skin; the strands no longer expand freely but instead adhere to a predefined form that constrains their expansion. A distinction between interior and exterior thus arises.

Unlike the Impregnações (Impregnations), layering is permitted here. The work becomes denser and more organic, resembling biological formations. The underlying mathematical logic does not vanish, but rather becomes more complex.

The work begins to address the concept of containment: how far can something grow? What defines the limits of a system?
